Bruce and Ruth Schlappi, of Schlappi Financial Group, help clients build retirement savings they can count on.
Bruce Schlappi, founder and president, has more than three decades of experience providing clients with secure retirement savings opportunities.
He’s passionate about helping people accomplish their retirement goals and overcome financial challenges.
Despite his financial acumen, Bruce came to the profession through the school of hard knocks. He was raised by a hard-working single mom in Independence, Mo. Because his mother never gave up, the family stayed together despite many challenges. A childhood of financial hardships inspired him to help others find a better way.
That vision still motivates him today.
“You have to believe in financial planning to stay in it,” Bruce says. “It’s not an easy business. The vast majority of people end up quitting. Personally, I couldn’t do anything else. I get to offer solutions to problems every family has to face”
Bruce’s independent status means he is fully devoted to his clients.
“I’m not an employee and I don’t punch a time clock. I work for you. You are the client.”
He has been married to Ruth for more than 35 years and they have three children and five grandchildren. Ruth works alongside Bruce as client relationship manager.
Bruce believes everyone has the opportunity to leave a legacy, starting with their influence on family and relationships. A legacy is one way of saying “I love you.”
“It’s important that people have a legacy and not just a nice lifestyle,” he said. “Retirement savings is a part of that. A financially volatile home is not where you want to be. I want to help clients avoid that, plan ahead, weather the storms of life and learn the timeless principles of saving and planning ahead .”
